KATE JACKSON

A fourth generation native Californian, Kate Jackson has painted almost exclusively in watercolor for over 25 years and trained primarily in the Los Angeles and Santa Barbara areas. (Formerly known as Kate Trelatsky) She has a loose, bold, expressive style of painting, is known for her vivid color and often incorporates collage in her work.  Her paintings, known as Watercolor Expressions, are colorful abstract images of “landscapes of the mind.”  Kate has taught watercolor to adults and children through the Merced Multicultural Arts Center and Merced Community College and Tri-College campuses.  She is an International Workshop instructor, recently having conducted a workshop in Lynmouth, UK.   Kate is an award winner in numerous California exhibits and has shown in such prestigious shows as Yosemite Renaissance VIII, the CCAA Annual Spring Show, California State Fair and several one woman shows throughout the state.  She is a long-standing member artist of the Arbor Gallery, Merced, CA, charter member of the Los Padres Watercolor Society, and active member of CHAA (Contemporary Humanitarian Artists Assoc.)

Beginning in late 2007 into early 2008 Jackson’s artwork began moving in a new direction including mixed media/collage on small boards and large canvas and figurative work on Yupo synthetic paper.

Kate’s paintings are included in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and abroad.
